Kool-Kore is a gasketed PVC piping system featuring high flow rate, corrosion free service for chilled water service. Kool-Kore combines the corrosion resistant features of PVC and its ability to maintain high flow characteristics with the thermal efficiency of polyurethane insulation to make this pipe an excellent choice for chilled water systems.

Kool-Kore is an economical, lightweight, easy to install, energy efficient quality piping system. The standard carrier pipe is PVC class 160 with a grooved bell end containing a flexible rubber ring. Insulation is a thermally efficient polyurethane foam with a 'K' factor of 0.14 at 70ºF. The heavy wall PVC casing and heat resistant end seals keep the insulation dry. The piping system is non-corrosive and maintains very high flow rate characteristics.

In the field the system is easily adaptable to other material with commonly available tools. Standard solvent-weld or rubber ring fittings are used to make changes in direction.

Kool-Kore® Joint

Kool-Kore Joint

The Kool-Kore joint provides for expansion and contraction utilizing the rubber sealing ring placed in the groove of the integral bell. The joint compensates for expansion, contraction, and earth movement without addition stress on the pipe. There is no need for loops or other expansion devices.

Kool-Kore may be ordered using a solvent weld joining method utilizing a separate socket weld coupling or swedged ends. Pipe joints using the socket weld coupling method shall be insulated using polyurethane shells, casing-tite (PVC) sleeve, and 30mil High Temperature tape.
